                                                              Job Description 

 

SUMMARY OF JOB  

These staff report to and are supervised by a medical officer who represents them as part of the clinical services provider team. She would be responsible for being the main point of contact for the SRH services hereunder:. Ability to perform each of the essential functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation, to safely and effectively perform this job.  

Principal Duties and Accountabilities  

• Conduct outpatient consultation service on sexual and reproductive health and follow instructions from the medical officer in charge of that service delivery location. • Taking patient history, assessment, identifying risk factors, and conducting a baseline test according to international guidelines for the clinical care of the expectant and delivery mother, ANC, and PNC. • Gynaecological disorders patients under the guiding supervision of the medical officer shall be referred or sent for treatment. • Do nutritional assessment on women and children, refer malnourished women and children to other third-level facilities for further care or provide food supplements to International Medical Corps or other partner organizations and keep records. • These should only be carried out under the supervision of a female doctor who has been trained when service facilities are available. • Support neonatal resuscitation in facilities with available BEmONC and CEmONC services, though only under the observation of a registered doctor. • Educate and counsel in- and out-patient clinics and at place of work women as individual or group clients on the following themes: family planning, danger signs during pregnancy, ANC/PNC, exclusive breastfeeding, skilful births, balancing/weaning diets, vaccinations. Refer the CBA women to the right departments appropriately so that they can be assured of TT immunization and a vaccine for children. • All MHNIS instruments of maternal and child health units, ANC/PNC cards, FP registers, and OPD registers should be maintained in perfect condition on record. · Implement the IPC guidelines on universal precaution when rendering clinical care and remind others to do the same. • Prepare and present weekly reports throughout standardized procedures and guidelines on patient status and activity. • Be an active participant in all planning and review sessions, belonging to the medical team. • Facilitates coordination of service delivery with other members in the facilities and the IMC office. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS  

A licensed community midwife from a recognized nursing institute, qualified and registered as a Lady Health Visitor (LHV) with an active license to practice. Having two years of experience in a similar role will be beneficial. Previous experience with NGOs is preferred. Strong communication skills are essential, particularly in discussing sensitive reproductive health topics and providing general reproductive health education. Proficiency in the local language is preferred. Additional Language or Technical Requirements: Urdu, English, and Pashto.
